Job Hunting

If you've decided it's time to move on to a new company (or didn't have a choice), there's a lot to think about.

Where do you begin? If you're tempted to scramble like mad to create or update your resume, hold on. That's probably not the best place to start.

How do you find jobs? Is the Internet your one-stop shop? Sorry, but you'll probably be disappointed.

Where are the good employers? Can recruiters help you? There's nothing they can do for a lot of people. Are you one of them?

What about salary, references and cover letters-which by the way, are one of the last things you'll create when you're job hunting. I've got lots to say about the job search process-including what might be getting in your way. Whether you're over 40, a minority, fired or laid off from your last job…if it's your first job out of school or if you're looking for a position in another city or part of the world…how you view this process has everything to do with your success.

To learn how to master these issues that you'll face in the job search process-and take responsibility for your career-read the articles I've compiled on the left of this page.

I'm always adding news articles so check back frequently!
